Position Description:

Volunteer Manager

 

Child Crisis Arizona is seeking a qualified Volunteer Manager to join our team to further our mission of protecting Arizona's most vulnerable children from abuse and neglect, and to help build strong families.  The Volunteer Manager works collaboratively with other members of the Development team, agency staff and management and community stakeholders, reporting to the Chief Development Officer.  They are responsible for managing the organizations 200-300 volunteers. 

Job Duties:

  • Provide for the overall coordination of all aspects of this program.

  • Develop and implement procedures and protocol for efficient program functioning and utilization.

  • Insure that program follows agency guidelines and policies.

  • Attend and participates in agency-related meetings and trainings as appropriate.

  • Assists in Agency tours as assigned. 

  • Assists in agency special events as assigned.

  • Conduct General Volunteer Orientation for all potential agency activities.

  • Management of the Direct Care volunteer program, which includes but is not limited to:

  • conducting volunteer interviews,

  • determining appropriate placement of volunteers within programs

  • conducting monthly training for new volunteers

  • supervision of Direct Care volunteers

  • provide in-service & internship opportunities for volunteers, as appropriate.

  • recruitment of community service/event volunteers as needed

  • tracking and reporting of volunteer information

  • Screen volunteers for other agency programs. Find and schedule group volunteer opportunities

  • Recruitment of volunteers through web sites, volunteer fairs, speaking engagements

  • Find and manage corporate volunteer match programs.  

  • Assist in planning of annual volunteer recognition event.

  • Conduct periodic program evaluation.

  • Serve as on-call contact for solving volunteer problems as appropriate.

  • Implement and participate in all volunteer program development at the agency including volunteer and general info fairs as well as special events.

  • Meet regularly for individual supervisions.

  • Participate in continuing education and training as appropriate.

  • Schedule outside volunteer groups for activities within the shelter program in coordination with the Shelter Program Director

  • Primary contact for Eagle Scout projects, and other non-profit groups to work with kids such as Gabriel's Angels, Free Arts of Arizona.

  • Build relationships with corporate volunteer programs throughout metro Phoenix area and utilize their volunteer forces for special program needs. 

     

     

    The starting salary is $44,036.80 - 51,808.00 DOE.  

Position Qualifications:

Training, Education, Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field AND two years' experience in volunteer management.

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with technology in performing job duties

  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
